Genesis 6:12
King James Version
12 And God looked upon the earth,
and, behold, it was corrupt;
for all flesh had corrupted his way
upon the earth.
What does it take to DROWN giants?
What does it take to drown evil?
The FLOOD had to be GREAT.
It had to take ages.
Why?
Read "GENESIS on GIANTS" and "The FAITHFUL Noah".
Man's kind had been corrupted by the "sons of God", who fell for the "daughters of men".
Hybrids were created.
Some call them the Nephilim.
But it did not please GOD at all.
His perfect creation was corrupted right from the start.
Starting with that serpent who corrupted Adam and Eve.
On and on, his evil persists.
But Noah had to be saved.
For GOD's perfect purpose.
As this blog will show you pretty often.
It had to take a GREAT ark to preserve what GOD wanted preserved.
It had to take a GREAT flood to wipe out all of creation.
And the flood had to go on for a long time.
Again, GOD was specific:
Genesis 7:4
King James Version
4 For yet seven days,
and I will cause it to rain upon the earth
forty days and forty nights;
and every living substance that I have made
will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
Here's the Bible's account of those long, and dark days:
Genesis 7:10
King James Version
10 And it came to pass after seven days,
that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
Genesis 7:11-12
King James Version
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life,
in the second month,
the seventeenth day of the month,
the same day were all the fountains of the great deep
broken up,
and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth
forty days and forty nights.
Genesis 7:17-19
King James Version
17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth;
and the waters increased, and bare up the ark,
and it was lift up above the earth.
18 And the waters prevailed,
and were increased greatly upon the earth;
and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth;
and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven,
were covered.
Genesis 7:20
King James Version
20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail;
and the mountains were covered.
Take note of these:
"the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered"
"Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail"
"the mountains were covered"
That means the water rose to a minimum of 22.5 feet.
And hills and mountains were covered.
Enough to drown giants?
Let Scripture tell us more:
Genesis 7:21-23
King James Version
21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth,
both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast,
and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth,
and every man:
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life,
of all that was in the dry land, died.
23 And every living substance was destroyed
which was upon the face of the ground,
both man, and cattle,
and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven;
and they were destroyed from the earth:
and Noah only remained alive,
and they that were with him in the ark.
TOTAL days the flood existed?
Genesis 7:24
King James Version
24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth
an hundred and fifty days.
WOW -- 150 days of flooding.
Such was GOD's anger.
There was no stopping His wrath.
Now, a curious question arises.
And that's for the next post.
